Safety: With the rifle pointed in a safe direction, open the bolt and make sure the rifle is not loaded.

Open the bolt. Pull the bolt to the rear of the receiver.

2) Depress the magazine follower.
3) Close the bolt.
4) Set the safety in the middle position as shown in figure 4.
5) Pull the bolt to the rear of the receiver.
6) Open the bolt stop and remove the bolt.
7) Rotate the bolt sleeve counter clockwise to unscrew from the bolt body.
8) Separate the bolt body from the firing pin assembly.
9) Note: If you do not need to remove the extractor - don't. It is possible to damage the extractor during the removal process. We do not recommend removing the bolt extractor. This should only be done if the extractor is damaged and needs to be replaced.

While hold the bolt with the bolt face facing away from you: Rotate the extractor clockwise until it stops.

10) Lift the extractor slightly as shown in figure 10.
11) Rotate the extractor out of the groove so it rests with the rear of the extractor sitting on the flat side of the bolt body.
12) Push the extractor forward.
13) Figure 13 shows the relationship of the extractor collar and the lug recess on the back of the extractor.
14) Place the tip of the firing pin against a block of wood. Compress the bolt sleeve against the firing pin spring so the cocking piece completely clears the bolt sleeve and can be rotated.
15) Rotate the cocking piece in either direction 90 degrees.
16) Remove the cocking piece.
17) Allow the firing pin spring to slowly expand.
18) Remove the bolt sleeve.
19) Remove the firing pin spring from the firing pin.
20) Rotate the safety to the right as show in figure 20.
21) Remove the safety from the bolt sleeve.

Reassembly Instructions

22) For the sake of redundancy: Figure 22 shows the relationship of the extractor collar and the lug recess on the back of the extractor.
23) Position the lug of the extractor collar to be inline with the flat side of the bolt body. Slide the extractor over the lug on the extractor collar.
24) While pushing the bolt face and front of extractor down on a flat surface, take a small tool and pull the top of the extractor outward just enough for it to slide over the side of the bolt face as shown in figure 24.

25) Rotate the extractor counter-clockwise until it rests in the groove.
26) Figure 26 shows the correctly installed extractor in position to be inserted into the receiver.
27) Insert the safety into the bolt sleeve.
28) Combine the firing pin spring and the firing pin.
29) Note that the firing pin has flat sides the length of the firing pin. The bolt sleeve is keyed to fit.
30) Place the tip of the firing pin against a block of wood. Place the bolt sleeve over the firing pin.
31) Compress the firing pin spring by pushing down on the bolt sleeve.
32) Place the cocking piece over the rear of the firing pin.
33) Rotate the cocking piece until the sear lug (the protruding side of the cocking piece) is aligned to the channel in the bolt sleeve (as shown in figure 33).
34) Allow the firing pin spring to expand  against the cocking piece as shown in figure 34.
35) Insert the firing pin assembly into the bolt body. Rotate the bolt sleeve clockwise, screwing the threaded part of the bolt sleeve into the bolt body.
36) Figure 36 shows the bolt sleeve in its final position.
37) Insert the bolt in the receiver. Depress the magazine guide and slide the bolt forward.
38) Close the bolt.
