Figure 1
shows the Tokarev Model TT-33 Pistol. |
|
|
| 2)
Point the pistol in a safe direction and pull back the slide to
ensure the chamber is empty of cartridges. |
|
|
| 3)
Depress the
magazine catch. |
|
|
| 4)
Remove the magazine. |
|
|
| 5)
Pull back on the slide once more to ensure there is not a
cartridge in the chamber. |
|
|
| 6)
Let the slide, slide forward. |
|
Important
Safety Note |
| The Tokarev TT-33's recoil spring is under
great tension and if not handled correctly will fly out
at great speed. This could cause a safety problem or at
the very least fly across the room. |
|

|
| 7)
Using a tool, press down on the the recoil spring plug. |
|
|
| 8)
While continuously pressing down on the recoil spring
plug, turn the barrel bushing clockwise. |
|
|
| 9)
While continuously pressing down on the recoil spring
plug, turn the barrel bushing clockwise to the 12
o'clock position. |
|
|
| 10) Remove
the barrel bushing. |
|

| 11)
Slowly allow the recoil spring to slowly expand to its
fullest extent. |
|
|
| 12)
Remove the recoil spring and recoil spring plug
and set both aside. |
|
|
| 13)
Figure 13 shows the flat spring that holds the the
slide stop pin on the right hand side of the frame.
Figure 13 also shows the direction the flat spring needs to be
pushed to remove the slide stop. |
|
|
| 14)
Push the lip of the flat spring so it disengages from the
slide
top pin. |
|
|
| 15)
Figure 15 shows the slide stop pin on the right hand of the
frame. |
|

| 16)
Depress the slide stop pin on the right side of the
frame. |
|
|
| 17)
Pull the slide stop towards you, removing it from the
slide. |
|
|
| 18)
Slide the slide forward and off of the receiver frame. |
|
|
| 19)
Set the slide assembly to the side. |
|
|
| 20)
Remove the recoil spring guide and set aside. |
|
|
| 21)
Push the barrel linkage forward and down as shown in figure 21. |
|

| 22)
Pull the barrel assembly out of the front of the slide. |
|
|

Set the barrel assembly aside |
|
|
| 24)
Grip the hammer/sear assembly. |
|
|
| 25)
Lift out the hammer/sear assembly and set aside. |

Insert the hammer/sear assembly into the frame. |

Slide the barrel assembly all the way to the rear. |

Figure 32 shows how the recoil guide rest upon the
barrel. Note the inward curved bottom of the recoil
guide. This curve rests against the barrel. |

Lay the recoil guide on the barrel with the inward
curved bottom against the barrel. |

Note the arrows pointing to the rails on the side of the
frame. The rails are what the slide rides
upon. |

Figure 34 shows the channels cut into the slide
assembly that fit over the rails of the slide. |

While holding the recoil spring guide in place, place the
slide onto the frame's rails. |

Figure 37 shows the slide stop hole and the
barrel linkage hole. |

Align the slide stop pin hole and the barrel linkage
hole. |

Insert the the pin of the slide stop into the
slide stop hole. |

Slide the flat spring forward so it engages the slide
stop pin. |

Insert the recoil spring and recoil spring plug. |

Compress the recoil spring and recoil spring plug. |

While holding the recoil spring plug down, insert the
barrel bushing so it is at the 12 o'clock position as shown
in figure 43. |

While holding the recoil spring plug down, rotate the
barrel bushing counter-clockwise until the barrel bushing
locks the recoil spring plug into place. |

Figure 45 shows the barrel bushing in its final
position. |

Insert the magazine. |
