What is a postal match? More.....

With the last few matches being quite limited as to the type of rifle being used, I thought it would be a fine time to open up the ranks a bit and allow a category of rifle that we’ve neglected to be used.  We are also going to try out a new category under PRONE only to see how things work out. 

Non-sporterized= no replacement stocks, no caliber changes, no sporting barrel replacements etc.

Categories:

Category 1 

Rifles: Any non-sporterized semi auto mil surp type rifle
Sights: Iron sights, ANY TYPE except for optical sights.
Ammunition: Any center fire ammo
Position: Unsupported off hand (standing) (sling okay)
Distance: 50 yards
Target: Modified SR-1
Course of fire: 3 targets, 5 shots each

Category 2.

Rifles: Any non-sporterized semi auto mil surp type rifle
Sights: Iron Sights, ANY TYPE except for optical sights.
Ammunition: Any center fire ammo
Position: Bench rested, forward support only, no gun cradles or rear support
Distance: 100 yards
Target: Modified SR-1
Course of fire: 3 targets, 5 shots each
 

Category 3

Rifles: Any non-sporterized semi auto mil surp type rifle
Sights: Optical sights ONLY, any other modification okay.
Ammunition: Any center fire ammo
Position: Bench rested, forward support only, no gun cradles or rear support
Distance: 100 yards
Target: Modified SR-1
Course of fire: 3 targets, 5 shots each

Category 4

Rifles: Any non-sporterized semi auto mil surp type rifle
Sights: Any
Ammunition: Any center fire ammo
Position: PRONE, no additional support, sling okay
Distance: 100 yards
Target: Modified SR-1
Course of fire: 3 targets, 5 shots each

Additional Rules:

Junior rules:

16 years of age and under, may shoot Category 1 from a BENCH instead of standing. Category 2 and 3 rules stay the same for juniors. Please note on entry form whether a shooter is a junior. Juniors are eligible for door prizes, however, if not appropriate to the age level, their parent/guardian will have to accept the door prize. Depending on the number of juniors who participate, we may/may not establish a separate sub-category for them.

 

Target rules:

1. Use 6 targets (max). Send us the best 3 in for your score.

2. Make sure that the black area of the bull is no larger than 6 inches across

3. Each shooter may submit ONE set of 3 targets for each category. Regardless of the number of categories you send, each shooter has ONE door prize entry chance.

Modified downloaded Surplusrifle.com SR-1.  Maximum 6” across measurement for black area (please check your print outs). You must use our target!

Scoring:

Prior to sending targets in, please SCORE YOUR OWN targets. Scores will be verified prior to posting.

Standard scoring with an X count and a total score out of 150.

Important Submission Note!

Please download and fill out the information form that needs to be included with each SET of targets. Staple this form to each set of 3 targets.

You no longer write all the info on the back of each target!

Awards:

There will be certificates sent to the top shooters in each group. Door prizes will be selected at random from all qualified entries.

Deadline:

Targets must be received by April 30, 2005 to be eligible for this match.  There will be no extensions.
